Esther Zammit

I am a warranted family therapist with a special interest in couples, parent-child relationships, and mental health. I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) in 2017 from the University of Malta and pursued a Master’s in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice within the same university.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in different sectors, broadening my understanding and experience as a systemic psychotherapist. I have worked in forensic and educational settings, inpatient and community mental health services, and various residential homes for children, adults, and the elderly. I was particularly drawn to family therapy because of my curiosity about understanding the underlying dynamics of any given relationship. As social beings, we are constantly surrounded by people who, one way or another, play a role in our life trajectory. These relationships, whether with romantic partners, children, extended family, colleagues, or others, often impact our well-being and life satisfaction.

In my work with clients, I believe they are the experts of their own lives, and my role is to assist and facilitate the therapeutic process. I also emphasize the importance of creating a safe environment, as I believe that progress and change can take place when individuals feel secure. My therapeutic approach is to be empathic, non-judgmental, and to use an integration of various techniques from different modalities and theories. I am a firm advocate of attachment theory, which explores relationship patterns, ways of interacting with others, and understanding the world, along with personal needs and struggles.

Additional Information:
Clinic and Service Fee: €40 for individual sessions and €50 for couple and family sessions.
