Anne Marie Spiteri

I’ve worked in the psychology industry for the past thirteen years as a Gestalt psychotherapist. During the first ten years of my career, I have worked in a range of settings related to mental health, including one-on-one sessions, groups, and teaching while serving as a psychology assistant for the Maltese government’s public mental health services.  I’ve had a team leadership position in one of the existing, well-established Mental Health community Day Centers, in addition to other positions.

I have spent the last three years working:  in private practice, and as a psychotherapist at St. Patrick’s Salesian School and residential care. My job encompasses one-on-one and group sessions with children, as well as mentorship of both carers at St. Patrick’s residential services and teachers at the school while working within interdisciplinary teams both inside and outside of St. Patrick’s. Amongst other responsibilities, I also take part in the recruitment of new employees as well and attend to meetings held by various organizations engaged in the alternative care of minors.

I now have a master’s degree in Gestalt psychotherapy. Despite the fact however, that I specialize in Gestalt, I also use several other modalities as informative tools in my practice.  I plan to continue my education in the area “supervision” in the future.
